HELPING OUR PARISH TO MOVE FORWARD

Dear Parishioners,

In March 2024 the 53 Parishes in the Diocese took part in Parish consultations with some 2000 people participating in the meetings. The theme of the meetings was “Moving Forward in Hope” and following these meetings the feedback was returned to the Diocese, and a draft proposal was put together. Following on from there, and at the invitation of the Diocese, each Parish Pastoral Council undertook a “mapping exercise” within their own Parishes to get a picture of how Parishes will work int the future with fewer Priests.  The overall aim of this exercise is to prepare lay people to take increasing responsibility if Parishes are to be sustained.

All this work has culminated in a series of Diocesan workshops which will take place during the first week of March.  These on-line workshops will last for 1 hour and we are inviting anyone who is interested in becoming involved to contact our Parish Office to receive login information.

Workshop details:

Community led prayer in the Church Monday 3rd March at 7.00p.m.

Planning for special liturgy moments Monday 3rd March at 8.30p.m.

Church environment – Biodiversity Thursday 6th March at 7.00p.m.

Following the workshops we will meet to discuss them and how best to adapt it to fit our Parish.

I hope you will consider attending the above and help us to build a vibrant faith community for the future. Fr. Fitzgerald
