- Returning from the Saturday walk to the Wallis Arms Hotel. All Walkers were required to register again at the Hotel to indicate that they had safely returned.
There was a superbly uplifting response to Millstreet’s first Walking Festival with organisers already considering another such Festival in the Autumn. Amongst those who enthusiastically participated in Saturday’s walk were Millstreet natives who are now living elsewhere including 
John Curtin who originally hailed from Drishane Road and also members of the Leahy Family. A magnificent Food & Craft Fair outdoors at the Square added so much to the unique character of the town and proved very popular while enhancing the sincere welcome to the many visitors. Our visitors were delighted with the wonderful musical performance provided by young members of Millstreet CCÉ. The big screen provided lots of sporting coverage including the Aintree Grand National. Further great music featured in many of the town’s public houses from 9.30 p.m.. The Festival on Sunday will focus mainly on Millstreet Country Park, Mushera and the Ballyvourney to Millstreet route.
