They must be into drinking lunatic juice or smoking wizzy weed
The Millstreet Town Park vandals are head cases indeed
Perhaps venting their frustration on society
But their vandalizing of a beautiful timber fence does seem all wrong to me
.
The praises of such people none ever do sing
Any honour to their towns their type never do bring
For most cases of bad behaviour one can find some excuse
Their’s is they are not men enough to drink lunatic juice
.
Suppose they could do worse things in life than wrecking a new timber fence
But their moment of madness does make little sense
Had they helped in building the fence they would not break it down
They will never become heroes in Millstreet Town
.
So few of us do go through life without taint
And so few ever born to grow into a saint
But the Millstreet Town Park vandals their responsibility to their community they should be made to face
By helping the people given the job the fence that they smashed to replace.
Vandalism is perverse in any setting, but it’s vicious and extremely unjust in a community such as Millstreet where so many people strive to create and maintain an environment that’s second to none. It’s only when one travels a little that one recognizes how special Millstreet is.
I would be very pleased to contribute to the restoration of the fence, if perhaps the moderator of this excellent site would contact me through my email which the site has and I will arrange for a transfer of funds to go towards the construction of a replacement.
I may be half way around the world but my heart is in my roots in Millstreet.
Perhaps those who caused the damage to the fence would do well to sit down and read the entries on this site and it may encourage a reflection on the stupidity of their actions.
hi david,
i’m sure your help would be very welcome, and you can contact the Millstreet Town Park Committee directly at: <email>
Personally but i’d prefer to see the lads that did it pay for it, but that’s only a personal view.
Finally, thanks for your comments on the site … i suppose as long as people enjoy it and find value in it, then it’s good for the community.

Just happy to help and if the lads who caused the damage are located, perhaps they could be asked to reflect that they are in an environment which encourages families to live in the beautiful, usually secure, honest, town they know so well, that others not so fortunate, would give their all to have.
Thanks for the link I will contact the Town Park Committee, will be no problem to get the damage sorted.
Sincerely
David
PS: If you find them, put their pocket money into the Drishane Church, my grandfather Patrick Cornelius Linehan would approve 🙂
