The Cork based weekly Hot Country TV Show which has now passed its 100 show milestone, is going from strength to strength and is proving popular not only with Irish audiences, but has established a regular fan base all over Europe. It is now the most popular programmes on the Showcase Channel Sky 201, Freesat 403 and Free View, and indeed the biggest country music show on TV in Europe with over 43% of viewers. The feedback to date has been tremendous, and the show not only creates opportunities for Irish artists to be seen abroad, but also opens up the whole European market to anyone who wishes to avail of it. Several Irish artists have commented on how it has helped to spread their popularity far outside this country and other artists, particularly American, have decided to tour here as a result of the demand from their exposure on Hot Country. With recent exclusive interviews featuring Irish country music legend Big Tom, and American superstars Brad Paisley & Darius Rucker, Hot Country is proving beyond a doubt to be the number one show for what’s new in country music. Each week Hot Country features Ireland’s top country artists such as Mike Denver, Robert Mizzell, Louise Morrissey, Trudi Lalor, Nathan Carter, Derek Ryan, Mick Flavin, Shaun Loughrey, John McNicholl, Shawn Cuddy, Daniel O’Donnell, Hugo Duncan and Jimmy Buckley, newcomers Noel Flynn, C.C. Cooper, Simon Peters, Jason Travers, Jason McGilligan, American stars Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, and many many more. The aim of Hot Country is to showcase country music all over Europe.
In view of this, the producers have decided to add another string to their bow by offering a further show every week called Hot Country Extra. Based on the successful formula of Hot Country, the new show will offer opportunities to more acts to further their careers all over Europe and will be shown at the following times. Monday 7.30 – 8.00pm, just before the ‘flagship’ Hot Country show which airs at 8.00pm Monday (new show) with repeats Tuesday & Saturday 2 – 3 pm and Sunday 8 – 9 pm and also worldwide on www.hotcountryshowcase.com Hot Country is presented each week by Pauline Simons.
