CorkPolitics.ie report that Áine Collins TD, has welcomed the Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan’s decision to provide €5 million in funding for agri-food enterprises in rural Ireland after she raised the topic in the Dáil a few weeks ago.
“In Cork North West, there are a number of really good small businesses producing very high quality food but they need help in expanding their offerings and their markets and I am glad now that they will have a chance to avail of badly needed support. Locally, we have high quality producers such as McCarthy’s butchers, Ardrahan Cheese, not to mention the foods produced by Millstreet Community Horticultural Group, among many others.
