Hi All,
This year I have decided to raise some money for Down Syndrome Ireland. Down Syndrome Ireland is the national organisation of people with Down Syndrome and their families, with over 3,000 member families and 25 voluntary branches nationwide. It is dedicated to being the primary source of support and information to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community, working towards an improved quality of life along with a respect and acceptance of people with Down syndrome as valued members of Society.
Down Syndrome Ireland provide a wide range of supports and services to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professionals that assist them, from support services in the early days for new parents; through to early development; educational support; health advice; projects to develop independence; advocacy; and social activities, at both national and local level. Down Syndrome Ireland is almost fully reliant on donations and fundraising to support their work, so every penny really will make a difference.
I will be taking part in Rev-Up4DSI 2012. Rev-Up4DSI is an annual charity motorcycle challenge in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland, the event involves a minimum of 1000km around Ireland across the three days, the event will take place between the 5th & 7th of May 2012. Founders of Rev-Up4DSI Michael McCormick and Aidan Lynam (both men are dads to girls that were born with Down Syndrome and enthusiastic motorcyclists) met in 2005, after a brief meeting Rev-Up4DSI was born. The event has grown from strength to strength ever since having raised over €1.1 million to date for Down Syndrome Ireland.
Now down to the heart of the matter, charities like Down Syndrome Ireland provide an extremely valuable service to people with Down Syndrome and their families, and I am sure that everyone knows someone who is affected by this illness. Therefore what I am asking you to do is to simply click on the link below and sponsor me for the event. All the money raised will go directly to Down Syndrome Ireland, please give as much as you can afford no matter how small, every bit counts.
The following link will open up my fundraising pagehttp://www.mycharity.ie/event/james__healy_s_event/ (simply click the “Sponsor me now” button located below the Picture and follow the steps)
Please let all your friends know of this request and your work colleagues (if it’s not against company policy) and please ask them to donate if they can. I thank you for taking the time to read this letter and all your donations are greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
James Healy
