The Choral Concert in aid of our church restoration Fund was an outstanding success at our Parish Church on Sunday night. In spite of the inclement weather there was a very large attendance and we expect that the financial outcome will be great. The Kerry Choral Union were a joy to listen to as were the boys and girls of our National Schools and of course our brilliant Comhaltas Group with James Linehan. Our own
Fr James McSweeney exceled himself as MC.
Further to this fundraiser the Committee are now selling beautiful Christmas Cards depicting a scene of the interior of our Church,courtesy of Sean Radley, as well as a short account of its history. They are on sale in all the shops. They also have a 2008 Calendar which you can buy from the kiosk in the chapel yard on Saturday and Sunday.
Still with local publications Fr James McSweeney’s book entitled “A Year in Reflection,” is a must, bearing a picture and some well chosen words for each and every day of the year. It’s simply beautiful. As is 2008 calendar and the good news is that they are on sale locally, Pick up your copy right away, because they are going fast.

Bertie Buckley and Mick Wall have teamed up to hold a monster Art Show at the Edel Quinn Hall in Kanturk this Saturday December 8th, It will run from 10am to 6pm, and 10% of all sales will go to Kanturk Community Hospital. and while I’m at it let me say a fond hello to the lovely Mary Clancy, working at Mallow Hospital , and listens to my news every week.
The Annual 45 Drive in aid of Millstreet Community Hospital will be held at the Green Glens on December 8th starting at 8.30.Admission €15, great prizes to be won.

Our County Councillor Noel Buckley is working hard in response to local complaints about the poor media receptions that is being experienced in our area in recent times.. A notice in last weeks news link brought a barrage of complaints about it. Already he has spoken about it on 103, written to RTE and is awaiting a reply, He will also contact the Co Council and IRD Duhallow in the hope that this serious problem can be resolved. If you have a bad reception and have not made it known then please contact Noel or Marie Murphy without delay.
An important note here to say that the Maureen Buckley, Cork appeal, is looking for non-perishable food for the homeless and deprived families of Cork City in the run-up to Christmas. A box will be placed at O Regan’s Mill . Various cans, dried food etc. are needed .Please give this your best support.
