Corpus Christi Procession 2012
Millstreet Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday, 17th June 2012 as it progressed up Main Street to the specially constructed outdoor altar in the Square. Sincere thanks to photographer supreme, John Tarrant, for pictorially capturing the special local event as some thirty of us were in Croke Park for the conclusion of the International Eucharistic Congress 2012. Grateful thanks also to LTV2’s Brendan Murphy for recording the Millstreet Procession on video. (S.R.)
The solemn occasion is marked annually in Millstreet Town with the Procession starting at St. Patrick’s Church and then proceeding to the Square for Benediction – a wonderful tradition which will hopefully forever last in the Ireland of the future.
