On Friday night next October 19th the town will a blaze of colour and sparkle for the Annual Fancy Dress Ball Organised by the Aubane Social Club and The Wallis Arms Hotel.Great prizes to be won for the best outfits and proceeds will go the Canon O Donovan Centre. So give it your best support.
The National Dairy Show will be held at the Green Glen on Saturday next October 20th. It marks the 30th successive year that this prestigious will be held here in Millstreet and it promises to be bigger and better than even with many new features added and a prize fund of € 30,000 . Following such a challenging year for farmers it will be the ideal place for them to meet and look back at their losses and plan on how to improve on them in the future. As always the show will be held indoors with plenty of free parking nearby. The best of the fruits of the land will be served up in meals at the large restaurant, and there is always ample seating around the judging areas. So don’t miss the National Dairy Show at the mighty Green Glens this Saturday October 20th.
The following weekend will see the holding of the popular Pony Show which is held at the Green Glens every year for charity and will run on October 26,27 & 28th. Admission is free
That week end also will see the first Church Mission to be held in our Parish for many years. It will be held in Millstreet, Ballydaly and Cullen from October 27th to November 2nd. Full details on the church door and on the Mass leaflet.
The month of November isn’t far away and the Holy Souls will be remembered at Masses in our churches and also prayers in the graveyards. Our graveyards are badly littered with debris that has been removed from graves, in spite of the many notices that are displayed by the County Council to keep them clean and tidy. From now on please take your litter home and leave the last resting place of your loved ones as nice and as tidy as you would your town or garden.
At the monthly meeting of the Community Council which was held at the Youth Centre during the week it was decided to hold defibrillator course on Saturday November 3rd. from 9am to 4pm. A full day course is for beginners and a half day for those who need a refresher course. To book a place contact James Kelleher, 085 275 12 39. This course will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel.

Millstreet Development Group are currently in the process of organising some spectacular events for the Gathering at different times in 2013. You can expect a similar Karaoke event to the successful Karaoke that was run in July, a Summer Gathering and a Millstreet Community School 40th Anniversary Celebration.
In our effort to inform the community, both at home and abroad, we have designed a calendar. This calendar has lots pictures of local people and places and more importantly lists our schedule of events taking in the whole year. We would be delighted if you could use this calendar as your guide to all our events throughout 2013. All profits will be going towards our running costs. So please place your orders right away with Nicola McMahon, or any of the businesses in the town.

To-night’s the night when all the members of our Actively Retired Group will celebrate their 10th anniversary. It starts off with Mass in our Parish Church at 7.30 followed by a social evening at the Wallis Arms Hotel. Comprising of refreshments and music by the popular Pat O Sullivan.
And on behalf of our community I want to wish them a very happy anniversary and continued success into the future.

Millstreet Hurling team beat Newmarket in the Singleton Cup Final in Castlemagner.
And well done also to the Millstreet team that defeated Kiskeam in the North Cork Minor Football League.
