Renowned author and broadcaster, Jim Wilson will be giving a talk on Irish garden birds at the Secret Garden on Sunday October 28th (3-4pm). After two hard winters and a bad summer bird numbers are low so Jim will be advising on how to make your garden a haven for wildlife. This is a great opportunity to hear the advice and knowledge of Jim’s experience.
Jim Wilson is a wildlife writer, broadcaster, filmmaker, tour leader and past national chairman of BirdWatch Ireland. He is a regular contributor to The Mooney Show on RTE 1 Radio. He has written a number of books including co-writing Birdlife in Ireland (Dublin 1996) and Ireland’s Garden Birds (Cork 2008). Jim has been involved in the conservation of wild birds and their habitats in Ireland for over 35 years, with a special interest in our garden birds. He established the long running and very popular BirdWatch Ireland survey Irish Garden Bird Survey in 1989 which monitors the health of our garden birds.
