ShowjumpingIreland are writing in the context of the dispute between Millstreet and ShowjumpingIreland which involved an investigation by the Competition Authority into the compatibility of Rule 299N of the Rules of SJI with Irish and EU competition law.
As most are aware, the Competition Authority formed the view that the SJI breached Irish and EU competition law and as a result, the SJI provided an undertaking to the Competition Authority to amend Article 299N of the SJI Rules and would like to state the following:
• We apologise to Noel C Duggan, his family and Millstreet for our actions in relation to the above
• We accept that, despite the Duggan family’s pleas, SJI failed to investigate the inadequacies in our previous insurance policy and have addressed same with a new Policy …
