The excellent Narrator at the Parade was Peadar O’Callaghan. Windows throughout Boherbue displayed a most interesting range of historic memorabilia. In Pearse Community Centre a superb photographic exhibition took place. A splendid Barbeque was enjoyed at The Square with the most professional of Cooks who served in style and with great humour. A mighty occasion! Now do enjoy our 312 images of the marvellous occasion.

Thank you, Mary. It was a real privilege recording such a marvellous occasion. Great credit is due to all who organised and participated in the magnificent and very memorable Pageant Parade.

Tom o Connor Boherbue & Palo Alto Ca
You are very welcome, Tom. We’re delighted that so many people enjoyed our recording of such a superb and memorable Boherbue event.
Thanks for the photos of Boherbue and especially those of the people. My grandfather, Dan Carroll, son of Tady Carroll and Mary O’Connor, left Horgan’s Cross for Australia in 1887. Because my father used to tell us grandfather had horses Boherbue and Kishkeam we grew up familiar with the names of those places. I read about Paddy Jack Jim O’Connor on Boherbue.com and worked out our connection through a letter Julia May Herlihy wrote and the 1911 census, but wasn’t surprised because Paddy Jack Jim looked so much like his second cousins in Australia. Hello to Mary Linehan and Tom O’Connor because both their surnames are on my family tree. Best wishes, Mary Round (Carroll)
As a young man for Millstreet Gaelic Football he did play
The Parish Priest of Boherbue in Duhallow today
The classy half forward of the seventies for a decade or more
By those who watched him play is remembered for his many a memorable score
Jim Kennelly as a young man was quick on his feet
One of the all time great forwards in the green of Millstreet
So skilful and sporting and in a class of his own
In Cork Gaelic Football circles he remains widely known
For many years Millstreet in Gaelic Football were Duhallow’s best
Of the Gaelic Footballs Clubs in North Cork well ahead of the rest
And nowadays their fans can only dwell in memories of the past
But then few things in life ever do seem to last.
Jim Kennelly was in his prime when Millstreet were great
He often gave their fans reason to celebrate
Along with his brother the accurate free taker Ted
The Millstreet attack by the Kennellys was led
As a sportsman and a person one held in high esteem
In his prime Jim Kennelly was a Gaelic footballer supreme
He left the Millstreet fans of him with many a good memory
The very popular Parish Priest today in Boherbue.
