The 31st Annual National Dairy Show was a outstanding success at the Green Glens on Saturday.
And this coming weekend we will have the popular, annual Pony Show which is held here every year for Charity. It is mostly held indoors in the comfort of the Green Glens Arena.
And will run from Friday to Sunday evening. Usually running very late because of the massive amount of entries.
Admission is free all the way,restaurant and other services in full swing throughout. So please go along and see the cream of the countries young riders strutting their stuff.
Jerry Pat o Leary is off to Haiti on Saturday to take part in the completion of a badly needed orphanage there.
He held a very successful 12 hour spinathon in the Town Square on Saturday and people came in large numbers to support his great cause.
I’m sure the fund is still open, so if you missed it on Saturday you can still contribute at the Butcher Shop.
And we wish Jerry and we wish him God’s speed and, every success.
Next year 2014 will be the 1,000 Anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf. And momentos of the great event reach as far as our own Mushera Mountain. Where a certain rock marks the spot where Brien Boru’s older Brother, King Mahon , was slain in the year 975. A local group are anxious to high light the place, for posterity and already meetings are planned .
A special meeting will be held at Kilcorney Community Centre to-night Starting at 8 and all are welcome.

Millstreet GAA are in the midst of supporting the Cork County Board promoted Clubs Fund Raising Draw with another new series underway. The club welcome new participants-a year’s subscription is €100 paid yearly or monthly. Further details on the draw are available from Club officers or draw co-ordinators.
