School Celebration of Millstreet Community School 40th Anniversary

On Wednesday, 23rd October there was a very special school celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Millstreet Community School. Principal Pat Pigott addressed the Students and Staff outlining the history of the school. Here we note the cutting of the very impressive cake by Nora O'Sullivan whose grandmother, Nora Creedon was a wonderfully dedicated Parents' Committee Leader in the early days of the school while Donagh Murphy's grandfather, Michael O'Keeffe was superbly involved as Leader in the actual building of the school pre-1973. Here we note the cutting of the very impressive cake by Nora O’Sullivan whose grandmother, Nora Creedon has participated as a wonderfully dedicated member of the Board of Management (Parents’ Representative) in the early days of the school while Donagh Murphy’s grandfather, Michael O’Keeffe was superbly involved as Clerk of Works in the actual building of the school pre-1973. Senior Students were presented with special emblems of the school crest and all were treated to a delicious meal in the Canteen. We share a selection of images recalling the highly significant occasion. Sincere congratulations to MCS on such an important occasion.
