Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news Report 1204 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this calm Tuesday morning. With the daffodils and snowdrops pushing up through the ground filling us with hope for the future.
Baoichas Le Dia we have come through another week of high winds and heavy rains with no more than a few flooded roads to show for it. We are indeed blessed by our placing on the map. Our hearts go out to those whose lives have been torn apart by recent events. We can only watch and pray.
Yesterday, Monday February 3rd was the Feast of St Blaise. The day for the blessing of the throats. A very large crowd attended the 7.30 evening Mass after which our Canon John FitzGerald individually blessed the throat of every person young and not so young in the church. And in his prayers for the Faithful he prayed for the safety of everyone during this trecherous weather.
In spite of wind and weather in these past weeks, Dan Joe Kelleher is out testing the signal for local television in the greater Millstreet catchment area. And I’m pleased to say that his findings are very encouraging. He has gone full circle from Gneeveguilla to Kilcorney and Aubane and many places in between.
The latest transmitter which was installed at Mount Leader is proving very strong and gives much power to those already in place.
People who would like to get the station are asked to do all in their own power to access it. For those in the South or Carriganima area try Channell 30 and to the West Channell 35.
Meanwhile Dan Joe Continues his research into the limits of the station and is asking people in the outer areas to please let him or Sean Radley know if they receive the programs.
Sean’s number is 0868250074.
By the way, all this work is voluntary and free of charge.
Both LTV1 and LTV2 continue to transmit programs every week. Wednesday from Macroom at 9.30
and Thursday at 10 from Millstreet.
With A bonanza of Local TV on Sundays from 5pm.
