The annual March fair was held in the town on Sunday, in fair weather thoughthe crowd was noticeably down. Our camera men have captured over sixty images of the Fair, look them up on the Web.
Our annual St Patricks Day Parade falls on a Monday this year. Already some of our shops have dressed their places for the big event and others are urged to follow suit.
This year our town looks all new and beautiful, thanks to the great improvement work that was carried out in the town square. The new seating giving an air of welcome and relaxation, so please be ready in good time , to take part in the Parade.
Out in Carriganima they will have their Parade on Sunday March 16th.
And thanks to our Website our St Patricks Day activities will be on show around the World.
A very important meeting of the Community Council will be held at the WALLIS Arms Hotel Tonight to plan the St Patricks Day Parade. Starting at 9 All members please attend.

This week will see the beginning of Lent. Today is Shrove Tuesday, don’t forget to bring the lemons for the pancakes today . And Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and we will have two Masses. One at 10 am the other at 7.30 pm.
Holy Ashes will be distributed at both. And there will be no Mass on
Thursday.
The weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be at the usual times.
Please be reminded that this list of all the devotions for Lent are on
display at the back of the Church.
At all Masses last weekend some members of the Legion of Mary gave talks
and mentioned that a branch of the legion of Mary is to be started up in
the area. And all are invited to an introductory meeting which will be held
in the Sacristy at 8.15 on Tuesday March 11th.
Marriage enrichment Weekend will be held on March 28 to 30th for details

Deeper Conversation ,will take place to-morrow Wednesday night at the
Parish Centre, starting at 8 and all are welcome. The theme is Jesus Guides
us in the Gospel.
Enable Ireland would like to thank all those who supported their recent
church gate collected which raised in excess of €800 .
Two lovely new publications by the Aubane Historical Society are on sale
in Wordsworth.
Church Gate Collection this weekend will be in aid of Cope. Please support
it well.

The first rounds of the Voice of the Glen have ended at the Glen Theatre.
Alanna Barry , Joan O Leary and Mary Buckley have all qualified for the

Our GAA Club are revving up for the spectacular Who Wants to be a
Thousand-aire event which will be held at the GAA Hall on March 21st.

Our own Ann-Marie O Riordan will be in Concert at INEC this Friday Night
and music in the pub in Carriganima this Saturday night will be by Matt
Keane ,brother of the renowned Delores and friends.
