Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 2013 fromMillstreet.Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this nice calm Tuesday morning.
The AGM of the lotto Committee was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday night. It was very well attended and the fact that our Lotto has been running successfully for the past twenty years, it was an occasion of joy and celebration. Co-Chairmen Councillor Noel Buckley and Denis Twomey presided, supported in no small way by Secretary, Marie Twomey.
It was great to learn that since its inception the Lotto has raised in
excess of one Million Euro in Millstreet, every cent of which has been
ploughed back into the Community through, the Town Park, The Community Council, for the Youth Amenities and in later years, the GAA.
Accountability being the key word all the way.
People who contributed to the Lotto since day one were helped by it in
their own young days, saw their children get the benefit of it and now
their grandchildren. It’s hard to put a name on such wonderful
dedication. And on behalf of the Group, Marie sincerely thanked the
general public for their continued support. At the election of Officers the
Committee was re-elected in block.
Then a fine buffet meal was served by the Wallis Arms Hotel and a great
social evening followed.
Copies of the financial report are available from any member.
