Fondest Greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this beautiful warm sunny Tuesday morning.

Our Town has adopted what they call “the Millstreet StreetScape System”. Which means that in conjunction with Dulux Paint Company,a Colour scheme for the whole town has been drawn up. Paint being supplied at a reduced price by the makers and the scheme is sponsored by the Co. Council ,Our Community Council and the Town traders. They are asking every able-bodied member of our Community to come out and help with the painting.

A start was made last evening on the Wall of St Mary’s Cemetery on the approach road to the town.  Power washing is being done ahead of the painters.

This wonderful project must be completed in 25 days.

So please answer the call for help.

And if you like,bring a change of clothes as Shower and changing facilities will be provided .

Again look up our website for details of the European Juggling Championships which will be held at the Green Glens from July 19 to 27th. Last time they were here they brought 2,220 extra people into our town.In the Website you’ll find the list of all the things that they will need. Lots of them will be camping and will need Camping gear. Lots of food, Taxis, and a host of other services. They will have a program book in which you can advertise.

Meanwhile the grounds at Drishane Castle are being manicured for the new cross country equine event that is coming in July. This is an extra item on our Showjumping calendar for this year.  Making it all the morevimportant to make our town a fitting place to welcome the cream of the whole world.

At the AGM of our Community Council which was held last week the committee was re-elected en Block. Noel Buckley retained his seat for the one purpose of clearing all debts before stepping down. Denis Twomey a non member praised Noel for his wonderful achievements while on the Chair of the Community Council. Not least among them his long time ambition to provide Millstreet with an Astro Turf pitch ,which will further serve every member of our Community in the years ahead along with all the other facilities that he has put in place.. There is shortfall of just about €22,000 , in the Astro Turf account and Noel will not give up until the last penny is paid.

Next on their list of things to do , is to install a series of exercise aids in the Town Park .

A note from Bina &Liam Burke to say thanks to all those who contributed to their church gate collection at the weekend in aid of Courtmacherry Life Boats. It amounted to €1,838.

The Willie Neenan Memorial 10K road race will be held on Friday June 27th starting from the Hospital Cross at 7.30 pm.

Walkers Race starts at 6.30.

A Worship Celebration will be held at The Church of the Sacred Heart ,Kiskeam on Thursday June 26th at 8pm organised by the Millstreet Methodist Church in partnership with Boherbue/Kiskeam Parish.   And all are welcome.

Poulanargid Harrier Club will hold their monster Dog Show at Kilmurry this Friday June 20th starting at 7.30pm in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Apart from up to twenty Classes ,they have a host of sideshows and fun events.

Don’t forget to watch the Joanne O Riordan No “Limbs No Limits” film on RTE1 this Thursday night at 10.15.

And our other Star, Annmarie O Riordan is Guest of Honour at a Gala Concert which will be held at Ovens on this Saturday Night June 21st ,in aid of Westgate Foundation, Ballincollig.

John Joe Herlihy has a long list of Dances in the pipeline for the Edel Quinn Hall in the Coming weeks. Very often in aid of good causes, Always on Thursday nights and the one on Thursday June 28th is free with music by Ger. Donaghue & Valentia Sound.

The weekly Lotto Draw was held at the Clara Inn on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 11, 14, 19, 24 ,and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Russell Mackey, Minor Row the seller was Ita Hickey and she got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Georgia Sheehan,Liscarroll. €20 each to Ellen Murphy c/o Eileen Roche, Maureen Collins, Dromina. Millstreet take on Banteer in the Co. Camogie Junior League Final in Cloughduv to-night at 7.45pm.

And my final word this morning is to tell you that Mark Ellis will be fully fit for the Munster Final.
