Well known fiction / history / travel writer Mary Russell was on the John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio 1 this morning (june 18th), to describe her forthcoming walk from Millstreet to Rylane along the Butter Road, this coming Friday (June 20th). This is one of her walks along the old butter roads which brought the butter from Kerry to Cork for export. She plans to stop at the Kerryman’s Table. She likes to travel alone, but if you see her, ask her in for a cup of coffee!
Listen to the interview on the RTÉ Radio Player (from 45:45 to 51:03)
This may (or may not) be part of her research to for a new radio documentary on the butter roads of kerry & Cork (entitled: from Caherciveen to the Carribean.
