Top of the page this morning has to be a huge message of congratulations the Mark Ellis on his wonderful performance as a member of the Cork Hurling team who defeated Limerick in the County Hurling Final on Sunday. Signs were up all over the place wishing him well on Sunday. And lots of prayers that he would be fit to play in spite of his knee injury. Baoichas le Dia it all came up trumps in the end. And on Sunday night all eyes were on the Telly to see the match played all over again and to wallow again in the joy of it all.
History was made in Millstreet that day.
Mark Ellis is the first Millstreet man, ever to hold a
Senior Munster Medal in Hurling. Well done Mark.
Another week has passed and the mighty task of Painting Millstreet Town is going on like clockwork. Happily, it’s almost unbelievable to see the way that people have put their shoulders to the wheel. People who never bothered before, seem to let themselves got caught up in the excitement of it all.
And may God reward their efforts.
The race is on because at the end of this week the colourful European Juggling Convention will roll into town. Over 2,500 people from all over the world will be here from July 19 to 27th.
Bringing colour and fun and friendship during their stay. Centred at the Green Glens, like before they will spill out into the town, to the shops ,the B & B’s, the church the museum, to name but a few.
When they were here a few years ago their members loved nothing better than to show the locals how to do their juggling tricks. So please get ready to give them a cheery, warm, Millstreet Welcome. And be ready to help them to enjoy their stay.

2014 European Pony Show and Dressage, July 29th to August 3rd. Just a few days after the Juggling event. 17 Countries will attend this equine event which will be held both at the Green Glens and the Drishane Estate.
One week later we’ll have the Annual Millstreet International Horse Show from August 12th to August 17th.

Look up our Development Group’s Website for full details of their exciting Mini Fest, which they will run during juggling week. Starting on Friday evening July 25th with Karaoke at the Wallis Arms Hotel. Cash Prizes for the Best singer and the Best look-a-like. Food will be served Admission €10.
On Saturday the Juggling Parade will be held through the town at one, An event not to be missed. It will be followed by a Fun Day in the Park at 5.30.

The Cullen & District Special Needs association will hold their annual Harvest Day, on this Sunday July 20th which is also the Feast day of their local Saint Laitiarnan. Their efforts over the years have given tremendous support to people with Special Needs and their families. So please support them well.
