“It is with regret I let you know that Tim Cadogan passed away peacefully in the presence of his family early this morning.
Tim was a valued and very active member of the Cork Genealogical Society since the beginning in 1994 and was always very generous with his knowledge and his time.
Tim was a gentleman and Cork County Librarian for many years and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

CADOGAN (Lissaniskey, Cobh and late of Glebe Marsh, Skibbereen) On August 1, 2014, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, TIM, dearly beloved husband of Helen (nee Hyde) and much loved father of Brian, Ross and Stephanie, loving brother of Marian, Stephen and Margaret (Coombes). Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife and family, brother, sisters, Stephanie’s boyfriend Muirtí, mother-in- law Gladys (Leach), sisters-in-law, brothers-in- law, nephews, nieces, aunt Mildred, uncle Stephen, relatives, kind neighbours, Cork County Library colleagues and a wide circle of friends.Reposing at his home tomorrow, Saturday, from 2pm with rosary at 8pm. Reception into to St. Colman’s Cathedral on Sunday at 11.15am for 12 noon Requiem Mass, followed by burial in Old Church Cemetery. Flowers welcome, or donations in lieu, if desired, to Headway.

Tim was all that a librarian and public servant should be. Hardworking, knowledgeable, modest and generous with his time (and patience) to all who wanted assistance. He made an immense contribution to all those interested in Irish and local history.
