Description
The intern will gain practical experience in working with children, classroom organisation, assisting the teacher, reading stories, encouraging the children through play, carrying out routine classroom duties, undertaking any additional duties which may be allocated by the Principal and working as a member of the school team. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following classroom organisation, classroom activities, teamwork skills, class and school administrative duties. On completion the intern will have attained skills in a classroom which will be transferable to other education or childcare settings.
Skills Requirements
The ideal candidate should be trustworthy, have good interpersonal and communication skills, have a sound knowledge of ICT and the ability and willingness to take direction and work as part of a team. Above all the candidate should be enthusiastic and enjoy working with children. Applicants must be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting form.
Please Note:
This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above.
