![On Nov 15 next as part of the Handed Down series in Scartaglin, Emer Twomey & 'Strings' will perform along with other Cork musicians .. The fiddle group 'Strings' was first set up in 2011 by Emer Twomey to promote the learning of fiddle playing and the learning of traditional music particularly that of Sliabh Luachra in the Millstreet area. In 2012 'Strings' were invited to the North Atlantic fiddle convention in Derry. They took part in the youth fiddle camp & performed one of Neil Martin new compositions '100 Fiddlers at 55° North' The current group of young fiddlers in 'Strings' are (fiddle) Sarah Dennehy, Anna Buckley, Patrick Buckley, Orlaith Twomey, Leah Murphy, Niamh Smyth, Hannah O'Regan, Linda Desmond, Katie Hickey, Lisa Fitzgerald, Siobhán Cronin, Meabh Buckley, Eabha Sheehan, Orla Twomey, Daniel O' Callaghan, Katie Linehan, Katie Crowley, Conor Daly, Bridelle Cronin and Alanna Barry & (keyboard) Diarmuid Cronin, Darragh Twomey, Gemma O' Regan & Bridelle Cronin.
