The government today launched its strategy to get high speed broadband into all homes in the country. Cities and towns are due to be connected by 2016 while those of us in villages and the coutryside will be left behind and the government plan is to have those in place by 2020 (state substatised). Fortunately Millstreet town will be connected, but not an inch past the town limits. No villages like Cullen, Rathcoole, Dromagh, etc will be connected. pictured right is the map of Millstreet with areas in blue being the parts that will be connected. There’s a full interactive map at broadband.gov.ie
