Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1265 from Millstreet. Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wet but mild Tuesday morning.
The Town of Millstreet echoed to the sounds of pipers music on Sunday Evening as our Community welcomed home the three lovely lassies with their All Ireland Medals from the Boxing Finals which were held in Dublin on Saturday Night.
They were Cloe Barrett, Linda Desmond who won Gold and Megan Lehane, Silver. Our Pipe Band played them through the Town and a gala reception was laid in their honour.
These 12/13 year olds , are indeed to be lauded for their wonderful achievments and I’m sure we’ll be hearing more of them as time goes on.
I’ve a note here from our Tidy Towns Association saying thatMillstreet Tidy Town Association have received adjudication results from first round of Anti Litter Competition 2015. Millstreet are 4th which is brilliant.
That being said we still have a nice bit of ground to make up to reach 1st place, which is completely achievable. Remember the prize fund for this competition would go a long way to aid our organisations annual outgoings.
The next judging period commences the 11th May and the entire town again is being judged with particular focus on Tanyard Wood on this occasion. Murphy’s Terrace did very well in first adjudication so a massive congratulations to all those who aided there and please, keep up the good work.
