There is a smile on every face in Millstreet again and on faces throughout the world really, and all because our beloved Seán Radley is back among us again. For some weeks now we’ve held our breath since it became apparent that he had serious problems with his heart. The word went ‘viral’ and people in all parts of the world prayed that he would get the right treatment and on time. And thanks be to God, the prayers worked.
Four well placed stents later and our beloved Seán is back in Millstreet, hale and hearty, where he is loved and cherished by all.
I must say a very sincere word of thanks, on behalf of us all, to our friend and fellow member of the LTV2 crew, Willie FitzGerald (Cullen) who remained Seánie’s driver and carer during all his needs, be it in Limerick, Dublin, Killarney or Millstreet, etc. He was his right hand man all the way.
Buíochas le Dia a story with a happy ending, and we wish Seán many years of Good health.
Eight year old Katelyn Buckley, Kilmeedy, who received her first Holy Communion on Saturday travelled to Dublin on Monday, fully supported by family and friends, to take part in the All Ireland Finals of the Childrens TV Show,The Real Deal. She put on a wonderful performance but didn’t make the grade against contestants from all over the country. However as runner up she will receive a special medal as a momento of her great achievement. Well done Katie.
The crowds are flocking to our Holy Tubrid Well in larger numbers than ever this year. The Holy Rosary is recited there every evening of this Month at 8pm and the Annual Month of May Mass will be said there on Friday May 29th at 7.30 .

Irish Cancer Society want to say many thanks to all those who supported their recent church Gate Collection in Ballydaly which amounted to €335.
It’s that time of year again when our hardworking members of the Tidy Towns Committee are asking for lots of help. At the moment as well as keeping Millstreet Clean they want help at planting the tubs and boxes around the town and it environs. Please listen to their call. Join them for the weekly Clean Up every Thursday evening, starting our from the town square and find out about the planting and get stuck in please.
A very enjoyable event was held at the Parish Centre on Thursday Night last organised by Marie Twomey at which donations from the proceeds of the Community Singers CD ”Together” was presented in aid of Cancer. Dr Declan Soden of CUH received €2,000 and Mairead Daly €1,000 in support of her local Cancer aid Group. Then there was some tea and refreshments and a great time was had by all.
The final night of the Community Singers season will this Thursday night at 8pm. until they resume September. DV.

Many Congratulations to all the boys and girls from the town schools who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday. The Church was crowded, and Canon John remarked that there was a marked increase in the number of young recipients, with over six countries represented.
