Ordained in 1964, Fr. John Shanahan returned from the UK in 1968 and took up position in the Millstreet Parish. He remained here for a year or so, until he was reassigned to Ballinskelligs. He served in eight different parishes, spending the last 22 years in Valentia.
On July 22nd, Fr. Shanahan retired after 51 years of service, and the Kerryman has a piece on his retirement this week.
