Hi from Australia
I would like to contribute cash to the ‘Food Parcels for the Homeless at Christmas Appeal’.
I would appreciate advice if there is a means of sending a donation.
Thanks
David
Hi David,
Thank you so much for responding all the way from Australia. Not sure if you know someone in Millstreet that can do a donation of cash from you. We the hamper packers fill up about 25 bags for the group of men that stay homeless each year. Maureen and others in Cork and a lovely group here in Millstreet collect from our fantastic local people and take it up to the SMA hall wilton,in Cork where we get students from secondary schools to sort out the items, anything leftover goes to others in need like Simon centre, Edel House refuge for women and children, or sisters in Blarney for familys in need. The money that is donated buys either items of food or underwear or gloves/hats etc what ever is short. I can give you websites for the above organisations if you prefer. we are only a small group of volunteere not a organisation. Yow are so kind please respond Margaret
Hi Margaret, is my pleasure to be able to assist in your Christmas endeavor, nice to hear from you.
I do have relations in Millstreet but we have unfortunately lost contact, but will great if you are able to send the information of a group and I can go from there.
I follow the excellent Millstreet blog regularly, it gives a feeling of belonging, reading and seeing all the various activities. Millstreet certainly has a wonderful community spirit and brings back great memories of two visits.
Best wishes to you all for happy holy Christmas.
Sincerely
David
