High Price of Land at Millstreet.
On Friday Mr.Cornelius C.Crowley, Auctioneer and valuer, Millstreet, sold by public auction for Mr.Michael J.Murphy, of Main Street, Millstreet, his interest in his farm, containing 5 acres 2 roods, 30 perches. An agreement for purchase under the Land Act has been signed, and when purchase is completed the annuity will be only £1 17s 8d. Interest pending completion, £2 0s 6d. The bidding opened at £100, and keen competition took place between the several bidders, the holding finally being knocked down to Mr. J. O’Sullivan, Liscreagh, Millstreet, for £210 and auctioneer’s fees. Mr J.J.Lenahan, solicitor, Kanturk had carriage of sale. – Wednesday 14th June 1916
