Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this fine sunny Tuesday morning. After another frosty night.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Polish Community on the tragic deaths of their leading politicions at home in Poland. May they rest in Peace.

The April issue of Clara News is due in the shops this Thursday.

The Annual Cloghoula Pattern will be held on Bank Holiday Monday May 3rd, with all the usual attractions.

Mary FitzGerald would like to thank all those who contributed to her  Coffee Morning  in aid of daffodil Day, which amounted to €1050, and that was in addition to the €2,600 collected around the town on the same day. Well done to all concerned.

Our Transition year Students want to thank all those who helped them to raise €3,000 for Trocaire.

Thanks also from the Burke Family to all those who supported their Church gate collection on behalf of Courtmacherry Lifeboats which amounted to €2,573.94.

A very pleasant function was held at our AIB Bank on Thursday afternoon, at which the €10,000 Better Ireland Award was shared between the lucky recipients. Rathmore National School receiving €5,000, Presentation Convent School Millstreet €3,000 and  our local St. Vincent de Paul €2.000. Sean Radley was there representing LTV2.Refreshments were served and a good time was had by all. And on behalf of all the recipients I’d like to say many thanks to all at our AIB Bank for this kind gesture which is repeated every year.

The AGM of the Turf Co-Op was held last week and there was a big increase in the number  of people applying for the service. And the turf cutting is now almost complete at Gneeves bog, (again this year by Dubby Twomey).

Evening of Crafts at the ICA meeting which will be held to-night in the Gaa Hall ,at 8.

Bingo in Banteer to-night ,Jackpot €5,150

Please be reminded that we have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrement every Wednesday in our our Blessed Sacrement Chapel, (it’s at the left hand side of the main alter) from 10.30 to 8.30. Drop in any time.

Items from Cullen, Table Quiz in aid of their Special Needs Association at the Fairfield Tavern in Knocknagree on this Friday April 23rd starting at 9.30.

Also Monster Card game  for the same cause, in Cullen on Monday May 3rd. Refreshments will be served.

A note here from the Kilnamartra Walking Club to say that they will host a walk to the City in Shrone, on Sunday May 2nd. Starting out from the Co-Op in Ballyvourney at 9am.

Coming up at the Briery Gap in Macroom. Friday Apri; 23rd Irish Canon and the ever popular Louise Morrissey April 29th.

CUL CAMP
Millstreet Juvenile GAA host their annual VHI Cúl Camp from July 12-16. The camp is open to children aged from 7-13 yrs. The camp runs from 10am and finishes at 2.30pm each day. Completed forms and appropriate fees must be returned by Wednesday May 12.

GAA
Millstreet play Rockchapel in the Ducon Cup in Rockchapel  on Friday at 7.15pm. On Saturday, Millstreet are away to Na Piarsaigh in the Regional Minor Hurling League at 6pm while on Sunday, Millstreet are home to Banteer in the Junior A Hurling League at 1pm.

Well done to St John’s on defeating Lismire in the Junior B Football League.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at Mc Carthys Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were,2, 5, 13, 18 and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Donal Golden, Station Rd. The seller was Colemans and they got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Eileen Cottor, Murphy’s terrace. €20 each went to , Darren Kiely, Liscahane,   Susan Heelan, Boherbue,  Denise Neenan, Australia, Millstreet Hospital,   Tadg Mc Sweeney, Carriginma,  Nora Kelleher, Minor Row,  Virginia Brosnan Rathduane,  and Nora Tarrant of Tarrants Bar. Jackpot for next week €4,000 the draw at the Clara Inn on Sunday night.
