Our Community Singers have found that following two very successful nights on 103fm with Jimmy Reidy on his Round the Fire program, other towns are asking for information on how to start a singing group in their place. It’s a venture that is to be highly recommended and all efforts should be made to develop the idea on a large scale.

This week we mourne the passing of Donagh Murphy, of Dromagh. A man of many parts, including his part in the Blue Heather Boys Band at one time. But he will be best remembered for the great part that he took in setting up our local radio Station, County Sound as it was known then. His cheery ways and lively wit made him popular wherever he went and many of his programs can still be found on cassette tape in many homes around the country. We owe Donagh a deep debt of gratitude. We offer our deep sympathy to his family.
May his kind soul rest in Peace.
